The project involves the adaptive reuse of 37,000 square foot interior space within an existing building shell. Located at the corner of Hiawassee Rd. and West Colonial Drive (at the East end of the shopping center Plaza) the project is the final phase of the Orange County Multicultural Center. The new Senior Center and Innovation Lab will provide services for the local community and Orange County employees. The project scope includes an interior build-out, exterior envelope improvement, site improvements, and signage. This is a federally assisted project and is subject to Federal Labor Standards which include, the Davis-Bacon Act (payment of prevailing wage rates), the Copeland Act (anti-kickback of wages & submission of weekly certified payroll reports), and the Build America, Buy America "BABA" act (requires that all iron, steel, manufactured products, and construction materials used in infrastructure projects funded with Federal financial assistance (FFA), as outlined in Section 70914(a) of BABA, must be produced in the United States).
